OSWEGO, NY (July 17, 2014) – Nicotra Racing and driver Otto Sitterly, the current Novelis Supermodified championship point leader, have been penalized 19 championship points for an infraction pertaining to the Supermodified Grand Prix conducted on July 5 at Oswego Speedway.
The penalty comes as a result of intentional contact with fellow championship contender Dave Gruel during the lap 16 caution period for a stopped Brandon Bellinger in the July 5 Supermodified Grand Prix. After the contact, Sitterly dived to the pit area with a reported broken rocker arm in the No. 7.
