OSWEGO, NY (March 27, 2026) – Oswego Speedway is proud to announce that Toyota will return as the title sponsor of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour “Toyota Mod Classic 150,” set for Saturday, September 5 as part of the Speedway’s 70th Annual Bud Classic Weekend.

The prestigious 150-lap event will once again bring the stars of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour to the Steel Palace, continuing a strong partnership between Oswego Speedway, NASCAR, and Toyota.

“We’re excited to welcome Toyota back as the title sponsor of the Mod Classic 150,” said track owner, John Torrese. “It’s great to have the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour back at the Oswego Speedway. We can’t thank Toyota enough for making this event possible and for everything they continue to do for the track.”

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour enters the 2026 season with plenty of momentum and intrigue. With Gary Putnam stepping in as series director, a transition to American Racer tires, and a competitive field featuring both rising stars and established veterans, the Tour is shaping up for another exciting year. A strong car count is expected when the series returns to Oswego in September.

The 2026 event will mark the ninth running of the Toyota Mod Classic 150, which has become a staple of Classic Weekend with nine appearances in the last ten years dating back to 2016.

A look at past winners shows the strength of this event, with many of the top names in Modified racing finding victory lane at Oswego.

Doug Coby captured the inaugural race in 2016, followed by NASCAR star Ryan Preece in 2017. Matt Hirschman won in 2018, with Justin Bonsignore taking victories in 2019 and again in 2022.

Ron Silk has been the most successful driver in event history, winning in 2021, 2023, and 2025 to become the race’s only three-time winner. Patrick Emerling broke through with his new team in 2024.

Silk’s 2025 win came as a late entry, further adding to his record in the event, while Bonsignore remains the only other repeat winner.
