Kyle Perry Scores Ride in Emmons/Barbera No. 45 to Keep Championship Hopes Alive

OSWEGO, NY (August 8, 2025) - Kyle Perry, the Oswego County Tourism 350 Supermodified points leader, was having a dream season behind the wheel of the Bellinger-built, Dennis Perry-wrenched No. 20 350 Supermodified. Perry kicked off the season with a strong second-place finish on June 21, then soared to back-to-back wins on June 28 and July 5, marking the fourth and fifth wins of his career. His July 5 victory was especially thrilling, as he made a daring last-lap pass around two cars on the outside to take the checkered flag.

After a hard-fought battle, Perry narrowly missed a three-peat on July 12, finishing just behind winner Brendan Young. The driver’s streak of podium finishes continued on July 19 with a solid third-place finish behind Dawson Hawksby and Dave Cliff.

Coming into August 2, Perry had not finished off the podium all season and held a healthy points lead over Cliff’s No. 50, with just three events remaining. However, disaster struck early in the feature when Perry caught a wheel in Turn 3, slamming hard into the foam. The No. 20 sustained extensive damage, leaving its return to the track for Saturday’s event in serious doubt.

Enter car owner Chris Emmons and Mike Barbera of the CME Electrical / Top Quality Motorsports No. 45 350 Supermodified team. The Sunday following the crash, with Perry’s championship hopes hanging in the balance, they called offering Perry the seat in their car for the remaining two races.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to run the 45,” Perry said. “I really appreciate Chris Emmons, Mike Barbera, and all their partners for letting me chase a championship while our car gets rebuilt.”

Testing on the No. 45 proved the pairing to be potent this evening as Perry quickly posted a lap time of 17.068 seconds ahead of the $2,000-to-win Oswego County Tourism 350 Supermodified event scheduled for tomorrow.

“The car felt stable, and I’m just getting more comfortable with it,” Perry added. “Again, I can’t thank the Emmons/Barbera crew enough for letting us run such a fantastic piece.”

Perry also made two starts last week in the John Colloca-owned No. 41 Supermodified, running second for much of the opening portion of the Novelis Supermodified Twin 40. He tested the car again tonight, shaking it down for Hall of Fame driver Russ Wood of Pelham, NH, impressing with a lap time of 16.884 seconds.

Discount tickets are still available for tomorrow’s big races - the Mr. Novelis Supermodified, Mr. Pathfinder Bank SBS, and Mr. Oswego County Tourism 350 Supermodified events. Visit oswegospeedway.com and click “Buy Tickets” to grab yours now.
