Logan Rayvals Leads Flag to Flag For First Career Novelis Supermodified Feature Win

OSWEGO, NY (June 22, 2025) - Brockville, Ontario’s Logan Rayvals etched his name into Oswego Speedway history Saturday night, becoming the first Canadian driver to win a Novelis Supermodified feature at the Steel Palace since Randy Ritskes over a decade ago on July 19, 2014.

Rayvals started on the outside of the front row and edged ahead of pole-sitter Camden Proud at the drop of the green flag for the 50-lap main event presented by Constellation Energy. From there, the No. 94 set sail, building a commanding early lead while Proud and Dave Danzer pulled away from the rest of the field in second and third. Dan Connors Jr. settled into fourth with Ben Seitz holding fifth.

Brandon Bellinger made a move under Connors to take fourth on lap 16, as fast-closing eighth and ninth starters Tyler Thompson and Dave Shullick Jr. approached the top five with 11th-starting Otto Sitterly not far behind.

At halfway, Rayvals remained in control with a sizeable lead in traffic over Proud and Danzer. Bellinger and Thompson ran fourth and fifth, while Shullick, Sitterly, Michael Barnes, and Joe Gosek had all worked their way past Connors, dropping him back to 10th.

With 20 to go, Proud began to close the gap in lapped traffic. Meanwhile, Thompson attempted to go around Bellinger for fourth in turn one but pushed high and slipped back to sixth behind Shullick and Sitterly, who had broken into the top five. Thompson rebounded to get around Bellinger, who then fell back to seventh.

With just three laps remaining, Shullick shot underneath Danzer in turn three to steal the final podium spot.

Back out front, Rayvals was untouchable. The Canadian pulled away once more in the closing laps to claim his first-ever Oswego Speedway Supermodified victory, becoming the 98th different winner in track history and marking the third consecutive season with a first-time winner, following Camden Proud (2023) and Lou LeVea Jr. (2024).

The win adds Logan to a prestigious list of Canadian Oswego feature winners including Norm Mackereth, Kenny Andrews, Doug Syer, Warren Coniam, Dave McKnight, Doug Didero, and more.

It was also a historic family moment. Logan and his father Craig Rayvals now become the eighth father-son duo to win Supermodified features at Oswego, joining Todd and Gene Lee Gibson, Dave Shullick Sr. and Jr., Ray and Kody Graham, Mike Muldoon Sr. and Michael Muldoon, Eddie and Brandon Bellinger, Pat and Jeff Abold, and Mike and Max McLaughlin. Craig scored his own wins at Oswego in 2004 and 2008, also driving the No. 94.

In victory lane, Rayvals was all smiles after a dominant, caution-free run.

“That was amazing. I couldn’t be happier. The car was just great tonight. Best car I’ve ever had. Lots of fun. A caution-free race and track position helped for sure. Thanks to our company VCR Transportation, my mom, my dad, my girlfriend, Mike, Larry, Connor, everybody that helps. It’s a lot of work to get this car here. We were on the fence if we were going to come this weekend and I’m glad we did.”

The Novelis Supermodifieds return to action on Saturday, July 5 for the always exciting Twin 40s, while next Saturday, June 28, the Speedway hosts a jam-packed program featuring the ISMA/MSS Winged Supermodifieds, Pathfinder Bank SBS, and Oswego County Tourism 350 Supers as part of the Oswego Super Challenge presented by Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oswego and NBT Bank.
