Oswego Speedway’s 74th Season Kickoff on May 31 Canceled Due to Weather
OSWEGO, NY (May 31, 2025) - Oswego Speedway has again made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s 74th Season Kickoff event presented by Barlow’s Concessions due to persistent rain, chilly temperatures, and sustained winds creating less than ideal for racing.
With heavy rain this morning, a real feel of just 45 degrees and winds at 15 mph forecasted at race time, Speedway officials determined that postponing the season opener is in the best interest of competitors, employees, and fans.
The Speedway will not host racing next weekend in support of the ISMA/MSS Supermodified event at Lancaster Motorplex on Saturday, June 7.
Opening Day at Oswego Speedway is now scheduled for Saturday, June 14, and will be presented by FlynnStoned Cannabis Company. The night will feature a full program of Novelis Supermodifieds, Pathfinder Bank SBS, and GTR Super Stocks.
To ensure that teams do not lose more than one race from the schedule, a makeup event has been added for Saturday, July 12. This will be a regular program including all three divisions – Novelis Supermodifieds, Pathfinder Bank SBS, and Oswego County 350 Supermodifieds.
