By Oswego Speedway :: 3193 Views :: Race Preview | It was an Opening Day to remember at the Oswego Speedway as a last lap pass for the win occurred for only the second time ever in the Novelis Supermodified division as Joe Gosek in the #00 passed race leader Randy Ritskes in the Rayvals #95 for the win. On Opening Day 1994, Bentley Warren in the Landmark Video #29 edged past Mike Muldoon in his #80 to get the other Opening Day last lap win at Oswego. Oddly enough, the car that Ritskes finished in second with was originally a Mike Muldoon chassis.

By Oswego Speedway :: 1135 Views :: Race Preview | This week is the first of two Constellation and Entergy Kids Autograph Sessions for 2007. The Novelis Supermodifieds, The PathFinder Bank SBS Series will be joined by the Briggs & Stratton Tobias Slingshots which will also run Friday on the Dirt Track Oval. The big Saturday night of racing is sponsored by Dunkin Donuts and RJ Caruso Tax & Accounting. The evening ends with the 2007 Demolition Derby with track announcer Roy Sova being supplied a car again this year by Burritt Motors.

The week ends with another race on Saturday May 19th. Coca-Cola and Jakes Automotive will be sponsoring the "Opening Week" races on May 13th and May 19th which will kick off the 2007 season for the Novelis Supermodifieds, the PathFinder Bank SBS Racing Series and the RoC Parts Plus Modifieds at the Oswego Speedway.

DIRT Big-Block Modifieds pounded the pavement at Oswego Speedway for their lone appearance in 1992. The last time the mighty DIRT Modifieds circled Airborne Speedway was in 1989 when the track was dirt. Airborne and Oswego come full circle in 2007 as the two asphalt ovals host DIRT MotorSports NorthEast’s premier class of race car in a special two-race mini series. The Big-Block teams arrive at Airborne on Tuesday, July 24 and travel to Oswego on Wednesday, August 22 with $3,000 waiting the winner in each 40-lap main event. | | Read
