It was an Opening Day to remember at the Oswego Speedway as a last lap pass for the win occurred for only the second time ever in the Novelis Supermodified division as Joe Gosek in the #00 passed race leader Randy Ritskes in the Rayvals #95 for the win.  On Opening Day 1994, Bentley Warren in the Landmark Video #29 edged past Mike Muldoon in his #80 to get the other Opening Day last lap win at Oswego. Oddly enough, the car that Ritskes finished in second with was originally a Mike Muldoon chassis. 

2007 Oswego Speedway two-time feature winner and 1996 Indy 500 veteran Joe Gosek is joined by nine-time Indy 500 veteran Davey Hamilton in competition on Ferris Industries and Oswego Bagelry and Sandwich Shop night. The USAC Ford Focus Midget Series and the Antique Sprint Cars will also be on hand as four classes of cars are on the race night schedule.

Two old sponsor friends have been re-invented since the 2006 racing season at the Oswego Speedway. Both are long time sponsors and are back with new names to help sponsor the big Friday and Saturday of events on Independence Weekend 2007.

This week is the first of two Constellation and Entergy Kids Autograph Sessions for 2007. The Novelis Supermodifieds, The PathFinder Bank SBS Series will be joined by the Briggs & Stratton Tobias Slingshots which will also run Friday on the Dirt Track Oval. The big Saturday night of racing is sponsored by Dunkin Donuts and RJ Caruso Tax & Accounting. The evening ends with the 2007 Demolition Derby with track announcer Roy Sova being supplied a car again this year by Burritt Motors. 

This weekend at Oswego Speedway, one of the biggest events during the regular season in quite some time gets the green flag.  The first ever MSA-Oswego Wings event takes to the lakeside oval Saturday evening.  Winged supermodifieds from the Midwest, Oswego, and ISMA will join together in an effort to aid the supermodified division.

The biggest buzz during the off-season for supermodified racing was the announcement of the Days Inn MSA-Oswego Wings Challenge Series which will see the first of the three events this weekend at the Oswego Speedway. The Challenge Series returns to Oswego on July 14th and concludes at Sandusky Speedway on September 15th. This first event is co-sponsored by Outdoor Power and Red Carpet Inn.

Oswego is said to be famous for two things, auto racing and ice hockey. This Saturday night the two join together as it is “Minor Hockey League” night at Oswego Speedway sponsored by Lighthouse Lanes, Warner Physical Therapy and the Oswego Sub Shop.

The summer racing season always seems to get into full swing when Memorial Day Weekend comes around. At the Oswego Speedway, that is definitely the case with the annual tributes to Jim Shampine, Tony White and Richie Evans. This year, Doug Didero returns aboard the Booth Racing #61 for his first visit of the season in his new ride. 

The engines roar to life on Sunday afternoon May 13th to start the 57th consecutive season of racing at the Oswego Speedway. The week ends with another race on Saturday May 19th. Coca-Cola and Jakes Automotive will be sponsoring the "Opening Week" races on May 13th and May 19th which will kick off the 2007 season for the Novelis Supermodifieds, the PathFinder Bank SBS Racing Series and the RoC Parts Plus Modifieds at the Oswego Speedway.

DIRT Big-Block Modifieds pounded the pavement at Oswego Speedway for their lone appearance in 1992. The last time the mighty DIRT Modifieds circled Airborne Speedway was in 1989 when the track was dirt. Airborne and Oswego come full circle in 2007 as the two asphalt ovals host DIRT MotorSports NorthEast’s premier class of race car in a special two-race mini series. The Big-Block teams arrive at Airborne on Tuesday, July 24 and travel to Oswego on Wednesday, August 22 with $3,000 waiting the winner in each 40-lap main event.
