This week is the first of two “2 for 1” Family Admission Nights at the Oswego Speedway in 2006 at the Oswego Speedway. RJ Caruso Tax & Accounting team up with C& B Farm & Garden / Piggers Liquors / Pig Pens Party Barn to sponsor this event each year. The night starts off with the Constellation & Entergy Kids autograph session on the track at 5:15 before the racing action starts. The night ends with a 30 lap Enduro on the 5/8’s track and a Demolition Derby on the front straight.

Fans coming out on "Two for One" family admission night will be treated to the first of two Enduros for 2006 and the annual Demolition Derby which will both be held after the racing action has come to an end. The Constellation and Entergy "Autograph Session" will start the night off and the first Kids On-Track "Mini-Supermodified" rides will take place on that night. 

If there ever was to be a national “Motorsports Holiday”, it would have to be Memorial Day Weekend.  Every track, organization, or division in America seems to have a big show this weekend.  The Indy 500 and Coke 600 grab the national headlines, but it’s the short tracks that make up the bread and butter of auto racing. That holds true here at Oswego Speedway also.  On tap this weekend is one of the headliner shows of the year, the Shampine, Evans and White Memorial shows. 

The summer racing season always seems to get into full swing when Memorial Day Weekend comes around. Here at the Oswego Speedway, that is definitely the case with races dedicated to the memories of Jim Shampine, Richie Evans and Tony White sponsored by Community Bank, N.A. and Days Inn.

Defending 2005 International Classic and Track Champion, Greg Furlong will be back to defend his Jim Shampine Memorial title on May 27th as one of his race team sponsors, Community Bank NA, will be back to co-sponsor the event. Furlong who had things pretty much his way in 2005 may not have things so easy for 2006 as other "Hawk Chassis" drivers have shown that they are ready to do battle for the front position with him.

The only "Official Soft Drink" in the fifty six seasons of racing at the Oswego Speedway, Coca-Cola, continues as a major sponsor of the Oswego Speedway in 2006. The regular points season for the Novelis Supermodifieds begins this week and the second week for the PowerAde point standings for the PathFinder Bank Limited Supers is this week as they were part of the Open Wheel Extravaganza on May 7th at the Speedway.  

After two weekends of long range forecasts for rain that have given way to good and great weekends, the long range forecast for the earlier than usual Oswego Speedway opener was also in doubt. All of that has changed and the first ever “Open Wheel Extravaganza” will go off as scheduled on Sunday afternoon May 7th at 1:00 sharp. A partly sunny brisk Spring afternoon will greet the fans and competitors who are in attendance on Sunday afternoon at the Oswego Speedway.

Fleet Pride has increased their exposure at the Oswego Speedway in 2006 by providing sponsorship to a brand new Pre-Race Show hosted by Roy Sova and Joe Marotta. The Fleet Pride Pre-Race Report will be a live program that will be available to registered users of the Oswego Speedway website. The program will air most weeks in the 3:00 to 3:30 time slot starting May 13th and will feature news from the upcoming event along with guests selected by Roy and Joe.
