Mother Nature washed out the Saturday and Sunday events of Classic Weekend for the first time int the fifty year history of the event. The new change in plans sets up for a very busy Monday at the Oswego Speedway starting at 10:00 in the morning.

The thirty four finalists for the Doritos “Start to Finish” Grand Contest have been drawn from the entry blanks that were submitted by fans that attended the Friday Davis Brothers Bud Pole Night. Each of these fans will be rooting on the thirty four drivers that take the original white flag at the start of the 50th Budweiser International Classic. If the winning driver comes from the fans "assigned" spot, that fan will win $1,000 from Doritos brand.

Davis Brothers Time Trials for the Budweiser International Classic produced what many didn’t expect, a new track record. In the accompanying Parts Plus Modified 125, Oswego Speedway history was made as something happened that had never before been accomplished. 

Oswego Speedway continues to break new ground once again this year, as they have come to terms with Asphaltivison.com to carry all of the 2006 Classic weekend events via Pay Per View on the web starting on Friday, September 1st. After a huge response to their 2006 video webcasts, Oswego Speedway promoters Steve Gioia and Pat Furlong wanted to continue to provide their International audience the ability to take part in the tradition of racing at Oswego Speedway by viewing the Classic weekend LIVE on the web if they cannot make it in person.

The one hundred finalists for the Numero Uno Break the Bank Classic Cash Contest have been selected. The contest will pay one lucky fan $50,000 for correctly predicting the top five finishers, in order, for the 50th Budweiser International Classic on Sunday September 3rd.

There have been many trips down memory lane this year, as it is the Golden Anniversary of the International Classic.   There is one driver, front and center that has made more Classic Weekend memories than anyone else in the field.  He’s been in more Classics than another driver (31), he leads the all time Classic point list of almost 400 drivers, he is tied with the legendary Mr. Classic Nolan Swift for the most wins (6), and he ranks second, only behind Swift, for all time Classic top fives (12).  By now, you have figured out that the driver here is the immortal Bentley Warren.

Lighthouse Lanes, in conjunction with the Oswego Speedway, will host a press conference Wednesday August 30th, 2006 in preparation for the 50th annual Budweiser International Classic to be held September 4th at the Oswego Speedway. The press conference will begin at approximately 6 p.m. and will be hosted by tarck announcer Roy Sova.

Another fan-based prize package is set for racing enthusiasts attending the 50th Budweiser Classic Week at Oswego Speedway. The top two prizes are sure to satisfy the open wheel and fender fans of big league racing. Prizes include a ride in a two seat Indy Car and tickets to the October NASCAR race at Talladega.

Every now and then, someone comes in and takes the Supermodified world by storm.  Sometimes it can come from a totally unexpected source, and happen quickly.  2006 started out with Michael Barnes in the Limited Supermodified pit area, and not having the best of years and has transformed into a season in which he became the quickets driver ever to win a Supermodified feature race at the Oswego Speedway.
