Lighthouse Lanes, in conjunction with the Oswego Speedway, will host a press conference Wednesday August 30th, 2006 in preparation for the 50th annual Budweiser International Classic to be held September 4th at the Oswego Speedway. The press conference will begin at approximately 6 p.m. and will be hosted by tarck announcer Roy Sova.

Another fan-based prize package is set for racing enthusiasts attending the 50th Budweiser Classic Week at Oswego Speedway. The top two prizes are sure to satisfy the open wheel and fender fans of big league racing. Prizes include a ride in a two seat Indy Car and tickets to the October NASCAR race at Talladega.

Every now and then, someone comes in and takes the Supermodified world by storm.  Sometimes it can come from a totally unexpected source, and happen quickly.  2006 started out with Michael Barnes in the Limited Supermodified pit area, and not having the best of years and has transformed into a season in which he became the quickets driver ever to win a Supermodified feature race at the Oswego Speedway.

It’s amazing how far things can change in a year.  About a month into the season last year, Otto Sitterly was without a ride.  He sold the Muldoon chassis #79 which he had wheeled to victory lane on a couple of occasions in his career to Limited Supermodified driver Andy Noto.  For a while last year, Sitterly was rideless. Today, he is currently the man to beat on a weekly basis in the Supermodified division. 

In an eight day span starting this Saturday night at the Oswego Speedway on Burkes Home Center and Lighthouse Lanes "Track Championship" night, competitors at the Oswego Speedway will be competing for over $300,000 in purse and point standings money. The twice re-schedule "$10,000 to Win" and "$1,000 to Win" features for the PathFinder Bank Limited Supers and Novelis Supermodifieds will be run this Saturday, just one week before the 50th running of the Budweiser International Classic 200.

Speedway Press has created a special edition of the Eagle program this week for the Constellation and Entergy "Kids Autograph Session". The Eagle features a full color center spread with the top drivers in the Novelis Supermodified and PathFinder Bank Limited Super divisions. This will be a great item to have as families go trackside for the 5:15 autograph session.

The 20th annual "$10,000 to Win" race will take place of the originally scheduled Twin 30 features on August 19th on Asphaltvision.com as it was scheduled to be on July 22nd. Oswego Quality Carpet and Ferris Industries night will now feature the Novelis and OCNB "Mr. Supermodified" and "Mr. Limited Super" events on that night in front of what is usually the second largest crowd of the season at the Oswego Speedway along with the final Novelis / Habitat for Humanity recyclable aluminum can collection event for 2006.

With the year 2006 marking the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the International Classic at Oswego Speedway plans are in motion to host a Classic Champions Breakfast Buffet in cooperation with Lighthouse Lanes Bowling Center, where the event will be held on Saturday morning, September 2nd from 8:00 to 11:00.
