The 2006 Oswego Speedway Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet went into the books on Saturday October 28th as a successful venture to the new site of the event, the Turning Stone Casino and Resort in Verona, New York. Several new awards were given out and the Hall of Fame Class grew by one very deserving member.

It’s finally here. The book all supermodified race fans have been waiting for – "50 Years: Oswego Speedway International Classic". The hard-cover edition has just arrived at Speedway Press Inc. and is ready for shipping. It will make a great gift!

The book, a compilation of all 50 of the prestigious International Classics run at Oswego Speedway, was prepared by George Caruso Jr. with the assistance of Carol D Haynes. It’s a 400-page hard-bound book reliving all the famous races.

Oswego Speedway will host a meeting for both the Novelis Supermodifieds and PathFinder Bank Limited Supers this Saturday at the Turning Stone Casino Convention Center. The Limited Super meeting will be at 2:00 followed by the Supermodified meeting at 3:30. Both meetings will be on the second floor of the Convention Center in the Chautauqua Room. After each meeting, teams can move to the 4th Floor VIP Lounge until 6:00 when the Cocktail Hour begins in the Oneida Room to start the 2006 Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet.

The ASA Late Model Series "Fleet Pride 200" from the Oswego Speedway is set to be broadcast twice this week to dish and cable box race fans. The premier showing will be on Wednesday night October 11th at 7:00 on the IDrive TV Channel. The second broadcast will be on Saturday October 14th at 4:30 on the Men’s Outdoor and Recreation Channel.

There will be an "all you can eat" Spaghetti Dinner at the Maple View Restaurant on October 19th for Stowel Racing #89 Supermodified from 4:30 until 8:00. The restaurant is located in Maple View, NY at the corner of Routes 104 and 81 (Exit 34). The Maple View Restaurant is one of the sponsors for the Stowell Racing #89 Supermodified.

The Oswego Speedway Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet has a new home for 2006 at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York.  Several top drivers in the PathFinder Bank Limited Super Division and the Novelis Supermodified Division will be honored at the event. The top twenty in points will receive checks from the Coca Cola / Hoosier / Shell Oil and Eagles Fan Club drivers point funds. Some award winners have already been determined from season long categories while others have yet to be selected. All winners will be announced on Saturday night.

Ticket sales are going well for the 2006 Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet set for Saturday October 28th at the Turning Stone Casino and Resort in Verona, New York. Lodging for out of town visitors is at a premium at all available locations at the Resort because of other events booked there the same weekend.

PathFinder Bank continues its support of the Kids on-Track program for 2006 by awarding another $250 in U.S. Savings Bonds to deserving program members in conjunction with the upcoming 2nd Annual Humane Society "Strut your Mutt" 5K walk/run and family one mile walk on Sunday September 24th. The two Kids On-Track members who collect the most pledges will each be awarded a $50 U.S. Savings Bond from Kids On-Track courtesy of PathFinder Bank.

Supermodified racing legend Bentley Warren brought the crowd to its feet Sunday afternoon after winning the rescheduled International Supermodified Association’s (ISMA) 50-lap Super Nationals at Oswego Speedway. The win came exactly 40 years to the day of Warren’s first feature win at Oswego - Sept. 17, 1966. It was his 66th career feature win at the lakeside oval and the ninth consecutive different driver to visit victory lane in an ISMA event at Oswego. With only a handful of laps to go, Warren ducked under ISMA’s top gun Chris Perley for second place and race leader Canadian supermodified veteran Dave McKnight. Once out in front, Warren sailed away the last few laps in the Perley-owned No. 71 to collect the win. .
