The much anticipated new book "50 Years: Oswego Speedway International Classic" by George Caruso, Jr. with Carol Haynes will be available for the first time at the 2006 Oswego Speedway Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet on October 28th at the Turning Stone Casino Resort and Casino in Verona, New York.

PathFinder Bank continues its support of the Kids on-Track program for 2006 by awarding another $250 in U.S. Savings Bonds to deserving program members in conjunction with the upcoming 2nd Annual Humane Society "Strut your Mutt" 5K walk/run and family one mile walk on Sunday September 24th. The two Kids On-Track members who collect the most pledges will each be awarded a $50 U.S. Savings Bond from Kids On-Track courtesy of PathFinder Bank.

Supermodified racing legend Bentley Warren brought the crowd to its feet Sunday afternoon after winning the rescheduled International Supermodified Association’s (ISMA) 50-lap Super Nationals at Oswego Speedway. The win came exactly 40 years to the day of Warren’s first feature win at Oswego - Sept. 17, 1966. It was his 66th career feature win at the lakeside oval and the ninth consecutive different driver to visit victory lane in an ISMA event at Oswego. With only a handful of laps to go, Warren ducked under ISMA’s top gun Chris Perley for second place and race leader Canadian supermodified veteran Dave McKnight. Once out in front, Warren sailed away the last few laps in the Perley-owned No. 71 to collect the win. .

After being rained out the previous evening the 56th Sunoco Race of Champions got underway on Friday evening with four feature events at the Oswego Speedway. In the headline SST Sportsman division TJ Potrzebowski made a late race pass of Earl Paules to take the victory. In the NORA Limited Super Modifieds David Gruel made easy work of the field as he led the final 32 laps after starting sixth. The other two divisions saw multiple winners crowned on this night. In the Street / Factory Stock division Richard Petey was the overall race winner and the Hoosier Racing Tire winner. Meanwhile Mark Spencer who finished second in the race ended up the D. O. T. Street Tire winner in the Street / Factory Stock division. Andre Roggie won his fourth overall Mini Stock win in the last five year, Roggie was also the front wheel drive division winner. Kevin Hoffman who finished third was the rear wheel drive division winner and Josh Delacruz won the dirt car division in the Mini Stocks.

The Thursday schedule for the 56th Annual Sunoco Race of Champions has been reshuffled due to the pending threat of poor weather in the area on Thursday.  The Oswego area weather forecast calls for the system to be out of the region overnight on Thursday setting up a gorgeous Sunoco Race of Champions Weekend.

The Oswego Speedway has received an e-mail from Otto Sitterly. The 2006 Novelis Supermodified Track Champion and “Mr. Supermodified” driver wanted to let the race fans of the Oswego Speedway know that their thoughts have been well received by him and his family.

The Oswego Lions Club will hold its first Child Safety Day with "Cow Chip Bingo" on Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Oswego Speedway infield. The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. The Child Safety Day will feature many attractions including a Traffic Safety Council car seat safety checkpoint and bike rodeo, free kids vision screenings, fingerprinting, the Tobacco Free Network booth and much more.
