$5 Opening Day discount offer for mom on Mothers Day at Oswego Speedway.

Mom’s get to start off the season with a grandstand ticket discount to celebrate Mothers Day which kicks-off the 2007 season at the Oswego Speedway on Sunday afternoon, May 13th.  A $5 discount will be offered to moms that have a relationship with any of the sponsoring financial institutions or insurance companies at the Oswego Speedway or any mom who has a Price Chopper AdvantEdge Card.

Audio and video packages from Thomas Video announced for 2007 at Oswego Speedway.

Thomas Video Productions will continue both video and audio coverage of racing action at the Oswego Speedway in 2007 for registered users of the Oswego Speedway website. Seven dates have been selected for video coverage with one of those dates being a "Free Preview". Audio coverage will be available weekly at no charge as an "on-demand" feature of the website.

Can collection and free kids admission programs off to a good start at Oswego.

Two programs recently announced for the 2007 season at Oswego Speedway have gotten off to good starts. Fans have already started to drop off recyclable aluminum cans to the Box Office to help with the 100,000 can goal and several parents have signed their kids up for the 2007 Kids On-Track program which will gain them free admission to the races.

It’s widely known how wide open a feature race in the former PathFinder Bank Limited Supermodified, now SBS Racing Series, actually is.   In any given feature, any one of half the starting field has a legitimate shot at taking the checkered flag.  Any class in racing would enjoy those odds.  The 2006 season at Oswego Speedway proved that the SBS division is diverse, as eight different drivers visited victory lane.

A full 2007 Oswego schedule kicks off with Open Practice sessions on May 5th and 12th.

Racing action at the Oswego Speedway in 2007 will showcase some of the best drivers in a variety of divisions throughout the season. The Novelis Supermodifieds are back for their forty sixth season and the PathFinder Bank SBS Racing series, formerly the Limited Supermodifieds, will be back for their sixteen season. Other visiting tours of cars will be the Race of Champions Pavement Modified Series, the Midwest Supermodified Association, The PRA Big Car Series, the ISMA Supermodifieds and the Big Block and Small Block D.I.R.T. Modifieds.

National Parts Peddler Newspaper to help sponsor foam block barrier program in 2007.

Oswego Speedway is pleased to announce the support of Corky Stockham and his National Parts Peddler Newspaper for the 2007 season. Track co-owner Steve Gioia states, "Corky has agreed to buy a major portion of the foam block barriers used to cushion the outer corner walls at the speedway."

Kids On-Track re-registration and free admission plans announced for 2007.

The Oswego Speedway Kids On-Track program continues in 2007 with more exciting plans for members to take advantage of. The program, which is open to all kids in grades six and below, is free to enter. Because kids grow out of this program each year, it is necessary for 2006 members to re-register for the 2007 season. New I.D. Badges will be mailed out upon signing up for the program in 2007.

In the sport of auto racing, there is no resting on your laurels.  Having a good season one year, does not necessarily mean you will be successful the next.  You have to try and stay ahead of the competition, or they will catch you quickly. Small Block Supermodified driver Russ Brown is not resting this off-season, even though he has been the “one to beat” in the division the past couple of years.

The general theory at Oswego Speedway is that it takes five years of experience before you can be considered a legitimate threat to win a supermodified feature.  The thought was that it took that long to get comfortable with the mega-horsepower, lightweight supermodified.  The track itself is a tricky 5/8’s mile to get around, as the inside hubrail and four distinct turns offer their own intricacies.
