Kids On-Track re-registration and free admission plans announced for 2007.

The Oswego Speedway Kids On-Track program continues in 2007 with more exciting plans for members to take advantage of. The program, which is open to all kids in grades six and below, is free to enter. Because kids grow out of this program each year, it is necessary for 2006 members to re-register for the 2007 season. New I.D. Badges will be mailed out upon signing up for the program in 2007.

Small Block Supermodified driver Russ Brown is not resting this off-season, even though he has been the “one to beat” in the division the past couple of years.

The general theory at Oswego Speedway is that it takes five years of experience before you can be considered a legitimate threat to win a supermodified feature.  The thought was that it took that long to get comfortable with the mega-horsepower, lightweight supermodified.  The track itself is a tricky 5/8’s mile to get around, as the inside hubrail and four distinct turns offer their own intricacies.

Full season and partial season ticket plans announced for 2007 at the Oswego Speedway.

Season ticket pricing is now set for the grandstand and pit area at the Oswego Speedway for the 2007 racing season. A brand new ticket program is also being announced that will kick-off the goal of collecting 100,000 recyclable cans at the Oswego Speedway for the Novelis and Habitat for Humanity can collection goal of 1,000,000 cans in 2007.

While the first green flag of the Oswego Speedway season is still more than two months away, the offices up on Albany St. have been buzzing since ageless legend Bentley Warren took the checkered flag in the 2006 season closer.  Even though the 2006 season was a success, owners Steve Gioia Jr. and Pat Furlong are committed to keep the positive momentum going, looking to add to their success since taking over the keys to the speedway just four years ago.

2007 Race of Champions Pavement Series to include five dates at Oswego Speedway.

The 2007 Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour schedule is set for the upcoming campaign.  The fourteen race schedule will take place among eight different facilities in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.  The opening event is slated for Oswego Speedway on Sunday, May 13th.

DIRT Big-Block Modifieds pounded the pavement at Oswego Speedway for their lone appearance in 1992. The last time the mighty DIRT Modifieds circled Airborne Speedway was in 1989 when the track was dirt. Airborne and Oswego come full circle in 2007 as the two asphalt ovals host DIRT MotorSports NorthEast’s premier class of race car in a special two-race mini series. The Big-Block teams arrive at Airborne on Tuesday, July 24 and travel to Oswego on Wednesday, August 22 with $3,000 waiting the winner in each 40-lap main event.

Oswego Speedway helps Integrated Community Planning collect $4,000 charitable donation.

The Oswego Speedway was proud to play a role in helping out a local charitable association after the completion of the 2006 racing season. When the ASA Late Model Series invaded the Oswego Speedway on Saturday June 10 last year, Trackside Charities made sure that their visit would make a lasting impression on the community with a sizeable donation.

On Sunday, March 4th, the Eagles Fan Club will hold a general membership meeting at the Ancient order of Hibernians on 1 Munn St. in Oswego, N.Y. The meeting will start at 2:00, and will welcome past members and future members of the Eagles Fan Club. This meeting will serve as a brainstorming meeting for the future of the popular long time fan club.

A look ahead: 2007 Oswego Speedway scheduled race dates are announced.

The 2007 Oswego Speedway schedule is in the final stages of being completed. Just as in previous years, over 40,000 schedule brochures and posters will be printed at Speedway Press in time for the Gater Racing News Motorspsorts Expo, scheduled this year for March 9th, 10th and 11th at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Details for certain events are still being worked out but most dates are set and can be released for fans to plan around.
