Fans coming out on "Two for One" family admission night will be treated to the first of two Enduros for 2006 and the annual Demolition Derby which will both be held after the racing action has come to an end. The Constellation and Entergy "Autograph Session" will start the night off and the first Kids On-Track "Mini-Supermodified" rides will take place on that night. 

The Kids On-Track program unveiled the new BOCES-built “Mini-Supermodified” on Saturday Night. Nicholas Snyder got the chance to test drive the Raby’s-sponsored replica of his father’s #0. The cars will go into use on Saturday night June 3rd. The other replica cars include the Price Chopper replica of the Ordway #61, the Carvels Ice Cream replica rear engine Shampine 8ball and the Your House, Your Home replica of the Furlong #72.

Greg Furlong announced on Thursday May 25th that he was leaving the Jim Patternoster owned USAC Silver Crown ride. Greg stated that "I race to win and win only and after two races it became evident that would not happen any time soon". After the expected new car bugs were dealt with in the season opening race at Phoenix, Arizona, the problems got worse instead of better at the second race at Homestead, Florida.

If there ever was to be a national “Motorsports Holiday”, it would have to be Memorial Day Weekend.  Every track, organization, or division in America seems to have a big show this weekend.  The Indy 500 and Coke 600 grab the national headlines, but it’s the short tracks that make up the bread and butter of auto racing. That holds true here at Oswego Speedway also.  On tap this weekend is one of the headliner shows of the year, the Shampine, Evans and White Memorial shows. 

The summer racing season always seems to get into full swing when Memorial Day Weekend comes around. Here at the Oswego Speedway, that is definitely the case with races dedicated to the memories of Jim Shampine, Richie Evans and Tony White sponsored by Community Bank, N.A. and Days Inn.

The stenciled tires that drivers used on Saturday night May 13th can be used at any future race date. They will not be required to be used on June 3rd as previuosly announced. The heat races were completed on May 13th but the features were rained out. Track management decided to let competitors and Pit Pass Holders to come back for free to the Memorial Day Weekend races and Grandstand ticket holders will get in for just $9 with their ticket stubs from May 13th.

The Kids On-Track events kicked off at the Oswego Speedway on Saturday night May 13th as the first Entergy and Constellation Pace Truck rides of the season were given to Matthew Matteson and Matthew Lewis. Kids On-Track sponsor prizes were also awarded.

Defending 2005 International Classic and Track Champion, Greg Furlong will be back to defend his Jim Shampine Memorial title on May 27th as one of his race team sponsors, Community Bank NA, will be back to co-sponsor the event. Furlong who had things pretty much his way in 2005 may not have things so easy for 2006 as other "Hawk Chassis" drivers have shown that they are ready to do battle for the front position with him.

Although the night of racing at the Oswego Speedway was not a completed show, several fans collected prizes offered up by weekly sponsors at the Oswego Speedway. Ten lucky winners collected a gift from the Novelty Stand courtesy of the Novelis “Lucky Number” page in the Oswego Eagle program. The following people collected an additional eight prizes put up by sponsors.
