Two familiar businesses and one new name join forces to sponsor the racing action at the Oswego Speedway on Saturday July 8th. Rudy’s, the Oswego Sub Shop and Canales GMAC Insurance are the race night sponsors.

Long time Speedway supporter, Rudy’s Lakeside Restaurant, on the “loop” near SUNY Oswego on Lake Ontario, is celebrating their 60th year of business with a month long celebration during July. They have several events planned to mark this special anniversary including being a race night sponsor at the Speedway this weekend. Rudy’s is known for their “Texas Hots” and they are a landmark for the Oswego area to visitors. Carol Livesy and her son Jason work hard to see that each trip of yours to Rudy’s makes you want to come back again. The Oswego Sub Shop is another familiar sponsor here at the Oswego Speedway. Established in 1969, the Oswego Sub Shop is one of the areas favorite stops for a great sub. A Cheeseburger Hot Sub is a popular item on their menu as is the now famous “Al Roker” sub. The menu has expanded over the years to include salads, deli sandwiches and wraps. The Oswego Sub Shop has actively been involved in sponsoring many sporting events in the Oswego area for nearly forty years including the many hockey programs. They have a close friendship with Carolina Hurricane and Stanley Cup winner Erik Cole, from Oswego. There is a strong possibility that when the Stanley Cup makes its way to Oswego on Saturday August 5th it will make a brief stop at the Sub Shop.

New sponsor, Canales GMAC Insurance sponsors their first race night at the Speedway this weekend. Canales and GMAC Insurance began a three-year billboard sponsorship contract in 2005 with the billboard between turns one and two featuring the GMAC NASCAR #25. Canale’s has been a fan of racing on the local scene for years and you can find their name on the side of Todd Stowell’s Novelis Supermodified #89.
