With the “$10,000 to Win” Novelis Mr. Supermodified event coming up on July 22nd, several race drivers are set to make their first appearance of 2006 at the Oswego Speedway on Saturday July 1st to start to get dialed in. Chris Perley will be in action in the Furlong Racing #72, the most dominate car at the Speedway in 2005. While Perley settles into the #72, its regular driver Greg Furlong will jump into the team car #22 that Bentley Warren normally drives. Bentley will not be on hand this week but will be back for most of the 2006 season after this week. Pat Abold will jump behind the wheel of the Craig Rayvals back-up #95. Although the Rayvals cars were originally Mike Muldoon built cars, a lot of work has been put into both cars to keep up with the new trends in chassis that compete in 2006. Ray Graham has announced that he will bring his team of cars to the Speedway this Saturday night. Graham, Johnny Torrrese and Stephen Gioia III make up the stable of team drivers out of this camp. Mike Ordway will have the Clyde Booth #61 out for the first time in 2006 this weekend as well. Fuel bladder problems have kept this potent team on the sidelines for the first part of the season. Early season feature winners Otto Sitterly and Tim Snyder will be set to keep the invaders out of Victory Lane for the Grand Prix 75 on Saturday. The fastest car not to reach Victory Lane so far in 2006, Todd Stowell, will also be a legitimate threat to pick up his first win of the season. A large field of competitors will fill the pit area this Saturday night as teams start to set their sites on the 20th Annual Novelis Mr. Supermodified 50 on July 22nd and the 50th Annual Budweiser International Classic 200 on September 3rd. |
