Sobus and Zeigler get Oswego wins; Mike Trapp collects $1,000 for Enduro victory.

624SobusVL1_200.jpgBrian Sobus collected PathFinder Bank Limited feature win number one on Saturday night June 24th  during RJ Caruso Accounting / C&B Farm & Garden night at the Oswego Speedway. It was no easy task as Sobus had to hold back a determined Dave Gruel for most of the twenty five lap feature event. Sobus was able to hold on to the lead through restarts as the race wound down. At the finish it was Sobus collecting the popular win for the Auburn native. Dave Gruel, an Auburn neighbor, had to settle for second. Chris Proud came home in third. Rob Pullen rounded was in fourth and Russ Brown settled for fifth. In the first Jakes Automotive Super Stock race of the season a near record count of twenty two cars filled the pit area. Heat races were won by Rick Zeigler and Joe Miller. The twenty lap feature went to Zeigler (44). Jeff Merritt (49) came across in second place.  Joe Miller (9) was third. Jason Spaulding (34) was fourth Ken Travner (22) rounded out the top five.

 

The balance of the field: 6. Bobby Newman (77); 7. Dave Fetterly (21); 8. Eric Connors (10); 9. Chad LeRoy (43); 10. Jason Dinzler (81); 11. Brian Haynes (86); 12. Mike DeLoff(6); 13. RJ Wyman (0); 14. Mike Scorzelli (17); 15. Scott Dinzler (64); 16. Brian Hardy (41); 17. Randy Storms (00); 18. Todd Rhoads (40); 19. Chris Weber (39).

 

The rest of “Family Night” saw the Spring Enduro thirty lap feature paying $1,000 to win. Mike Trapp (70) came home in first place with a late race pass of Jake McConnell (24) who collected $200. Matt Dawson (76) picked up $100 for coming home in third place.

 

The annual Demolition Derby paid out $500 to win for Eric Myers. Second place and $200 went to Darrell Coir and $200 for the worst wrecked car went to Carl Barbera.
