The show that all Novelis Supermodified fans had been anticipating all week came with no let-down in excitement on Saturday night. Otto Sitterly’s two race win streak would be put to the test by the return of Greg Furlong and the always capable Tim Snyder. Those three cars were the class of the filed on this night as they charged their way to the front of the field in their Hawk Chassis. Furlong and Sitterly slowly pulled away from Snyder as the race wore down while they were posting near identical times as they toured the 5/8’s mile oval at Oswego. With three laps to go, it appeared that something may have broke on the leader Furlong’s car as he slid up into the foam in turn number two while running by himself. The race restarted and Sitterly was poised to continue his winning ways until another caution caused the field to restart with just two laps remaining. On the restart, the Sitterly machine bogged down slightly and Snyder went to the outside to take over the lead and went on for the popular win after running in third place with just three laps to go.
