Mark your calendar.  Friday July 30 Oswego Speedway Supermodifieds, Small Block Supermodifieds and the 2-seat Supermodified will be at Quaker Steak and Lube in Syracuse from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Quaker Steak and Lube is located at 3535 Walters Road, off State Fair Boulevard, in Syracuse.

IRL and Indy 500 veteran Davey Hamilton and defending Track Champion and International Classic Champion Otto Sitterly will be there will their John Nicotra Racing Supermodifieds.  Also on hand will be feature winner Steve Abt and his Small Block Supermodified, and Keith Gilliam with the 2-seat Supermodified.  All of the drivers will be signing autographs.

Supermodified car owner John Nicotra said, “This is a great time for both Oswego Speedway fans, and people who have never seen these cars that race at Oswego, to come and find out what it’s all about.  These are the fastest short track cars you’ll find anywhere, and this is the chance to get to see them up close and personal.”  Davey Hamilton, who is a regular on the IRL circuit and has competed in many Indianapolis 500 and other IRL events, says the Supermodified is “the ultimate race car.  There is no other race car that goes as fast on any track up to a mile long, and I think they’d give any kind of race car a run for their money on any track.”

Drivers Davey Hamilton, Otto Sitterly, Steve Abt, and Keith Gilliam will be on hand to sign autographs, chat with fans, and be available for pictures.  All fans in attendance will be invited to sit in the 2-seat Supermodified, and can purchase rides at the Oswego Speedway in the 2-seat Super.  Davey Hamilton says the 2-seat Super ride is better than any other ride along program in the country.  “The 2-seat Supermodified gives the fan a taste of what being in a real race car is all about,” says Hamilton.  “You will hit speeds up to 140 miles an hour, and experience g-forces of two and a half to 3 in the corner.”  2-seat Supermodified driver Keith Gilliam, a veteran Oswego Speedway Supermodified driver, says “the car will go within a half second of the fastest cars in the feature.  We have turned times right around 17.5 seconds, with a passenger, during our ride along program.”

While you are at Quaker Steak and Lube Friday night you can register to win a pair of tickets to the $10,000 to win Mr. Supermodified and Mr. Small Block Supermodified features, and a pair of tickets to Classic Weekend at the Oswego Speedway.
