The 24th Annual $10,000 to win “Mr. Novelis Supermodified” has finally arrived here at the Oswego Speedway. The 19th Annual $1,500 to win “Mr. PathFinder Bank SBS” is also on the schedule this weekend. Andrew Schartner won the "Mr. PathFinder Bank SBS" title on Saturday night July 31 st and the "Mr. Novelis Supermodified" feature will resume with lap #7 at noon on Sunday August 1st.

This is the second biggest racing weekend of the season and is sponsored by Novelis and PathFinder Bank. The winner of the “Mr. PathFinder Bank SBS” race becomes a “Guaranteed Starter” for the SBS Bud Light Classic 100 on Labor Day Weekend. The evening kicks off with the final Constellation and Entery “Kids Autograph Session” of the season at 5:45.

Novelis continues its support of racing here at the Speedway in 2010 with the naming rights for the premier division at the Speedway since 1962, the Supermodifieds. Several employees from the Oswego and Kingston, Ontario plants will be joining us tonight for this big race. Novelis will also be conducting their third and final recycling can collection of the season before the racing action starts. Can collection events have averaged nearly 36,000 cans at each of the collection dates over the first four years of the program. By the end of the 2010 season fan collection totals and Oswego Speedway trash chute donations will have surpassed the half million mark. Several collection recycling “houses” are on the Speedway grounds for fans to drop their cans in as well. The Oswego Speedway is proud to support “Cans for the Community” for Oswego County School districts by contributing cans to the worlds leading aluminum recycler, Novelis.

PathFinder Bank has been heavily involved with sponsoring races and the Kids On-Track program here at the Oswego Speedway for the past six seasons. PathFinder Bank provides $500 worth of U.S. Savings Bonds annually to deserving Kids on-Track members. This season, for the fourth year in a row, they are the title sponsor of the PathFinder Bank SBS Series. PathFinder Bank has prided itself on its role as a community institution for over 150 years. They have a unique competitive advantage over other financial institutions in the market area including a personal relationship with their customers, direct access to and availability of all decision-makers and an interest in the growth and success of the markets that they serve. PathFinder has seven locations in Oswego, Fulton, Mexico, Lacona and their newest branch in Central Square to go along with nearly twenty conveniently located ATM’s.

A handful of former winners in both big races will be in competition on Saturday and Ray Graham, Jr. will try to join Tim Gareau, Jr. as the only two drivers to ever win both events as he looks for the “Mr. Novelis” title to go along with his “Mr. PathFinder Bank” title from 1998.
