July 17th is the final Saturday of the 2010 season with regular 45 and 30 lap features on the schedule for the Novelis Supermodifieds and PathFinder Bank SBS Series. It is also the final night where the Price Chopper $10 advanced sale adult tickets can be used and the final day to buy Rev ‘n Rock $20 advanced sale concert tickets at  Price Chopper or the Oswego Speedway Box Office.

In front of the track on Saturday from 3:00 to 6:00 is the first ever Novelis can recycling event on a regular night of racing. Fans that turned in 200 or more cans received a $10 food voucher for the concession stands. With the balance of the 2010 season being filled with special events, this is the final “regular night” of the season and it is sponsored by Subway, Hershey’s Ice Cream Parlor and Days Inn.

The Novelis Supermodifieds enter racing action this weekend with Otto Sitterly leading Dave McKnight, Jr. by 60 points and over on the PathFinder Bank SBS side of the pits it is Dave Cliff, Jr. leading mike Bond by 14 points. The Hoosier Mama “Powder Puff” drivers will get an early afternoon practice session to tune up for their big race coming up on July 31st.

This weekend’s first sponsor is Subway of Oswego and Hershey’s Ice Cream Parlor also located in Oswego. Subway franchisees Beckey and Chris Batchelor have been long time sponsors at the Oswego Speedway with their Subway restaurants. They continue to supply kids “Fresh Fit Meals” to Kids On-Track members weekly and they are the home of the “$5 Foot Long” subs from their regular sub menu. Subway of Oswego also supplies a fresh sub platter to Roy Sova and the announcing tower at each race event. New in 2009, the Batchelor’s opened up Hershey’s Ice Cream Parlor located at East First and Bridge Streets and began advertising that business at the Oswego Speedway too as they have gotten on the good side of the other announcer, Joe Marotta, by bringing ice cream samples to the tower on occasion.

The second sponsor is Days Inn of Oswego. This is part of the lodging family that also includes Travelodge located in Oswego and Pulaski. This umbrella of lodging destinations have been long time active supporters of events at the Oswego Speedway. In addition to co-sponsoring tonight’s racing action, they again were the title sponsors of the “Old Timers Reunion” which was held on July 9th and 10th as they offered room rate specials for those out of town guests attending the event.

The Oswego Speedway welcomes back Subway, Hershey’s Ice Cream Parlor and Days Inn as sponsors of the final “regular night” of action for 2010.
