The first ever “King of Wings” race at the Oswego Speedway on July 11th is quickly approaching as is race team pre-registration. The $10,000 first place money, a first for a winged supermodified winner’s check, will undoubtedly attract the top supermodified teams from the United States and Canada.

Registration by teams for this event is mandatory and there is no fee to do so. Registrations must be turned in by June 20th. Registration forms will be handed out to Oswego Speedway teams on June 6th, to MSA teams on June 13th at Sandusky and to ISMA teams on June 12th at Toledo and June 13th at Berlin.

The deadline for pre-registration will be June 20th. The purpose of registering in advance will be to have plenty of time to promote the drivers who will be coming from across the three racing groups. A total of fifty four winged supermodifieds were in competition on May 23rd between the Oswego Speedway and Waterford, Connecticut. The July 11th “King of Wings” race at the Oswego Speedway expects to draw most of those teams for perhaps the largest one day gathering of supermodifieds for the entire 2009 season at one track.

The “King of Wings” race, as noted on the Oswego Speedway printed and website schedule, will be an MSA sanctioned event. MSA rules and MSA/Oswego points will be distributed as they are for all combined race meets.

Official press releases with confirmed race teams will start to be released the week of June 22nd. With the front and back grandstands open at the Oswego Speedway on July 11th and the Old Timer’s Reunion scheduled for that morning, the first ever MSA sanctioned $10,000 to win “King of Wings” event should be one of the most memorable races ever staged at the Oswego Speedway for winged supermodified fans and competitors.
