Corr / Pak Merchandising Inc. located in Richmond Hill Ontario, Canada, continues their support of International Classic Weekend again in 2010 at the Oswego Speedway. The twist that they have put on their presence is that a lucky fan could walk away with some money instead of a driver getting all of Corr / Pak’s cash.
Corr / Pak Merchandising, Inc. is headed up by John Brush who comes from a family of die-hard supermodified fans from north of the border. Starting in 2007, John has been an integral part of Classic Weekend sponsorship at the Oswego Speedway.
In 2007, in addition to purchasing a block of International Classic Laps, Corr / Pak also provided a cash bonus for the first bubble car that had to pack up and go home. In 2008 Corr / Pak was back on board with several blocks of Classic Laps being purchased by the company. For 2009, one lucky fan, Sandy Gareau, and one lucky driver, Doug Didero, made $1,000 each at the halfway point of the 200 lap grind.
The “Corr / Pak Driver Halfway Bonus” will pay $1,000 to the driver who is leading the International Classic on lap 100, or the first green flag lap past lap 100 if the midpoint of the race is run under the caution. One lucky fan can also win $1,000 if they come up with the correct prediction in the “Corr / Pak Fan’s Halfway Challenge”.
Fans will be able to register at the front Novelty Stand on Saturday and until the end of Time Trials on Sunday and try to guess the top three running order of the Classic on lap 100, or the first green flag lap past 100 if the midpoint of the race is run under caution. The official entry blanks will have the day and time entered on them by the Novelty Stand staff as that will serve as a tie-breaker. The first correct guess entered with the correct top three running order, based on the day and time on the entry blank, will be judged to be the winner.
The top three running order will be determined by the AMB Timing & Scoring System for lap 100 or the first green flag lap after lap 100. Every attempt will be made to announce a contest winner at the conclusion of the Classic. The conest winner will be mailed a check on the Tuesday after the Classic.
If there is a winner in the “Corr / Pak Fan’s Halfway Challenge”, Corr / Pak will pay the bubble car of the Classic $400, if there is no winner Corr / Pak will pay $400 to the the last place car in the Classic, $600 to the bubble car and $400 to the second bubble car. In all, Corr / Pak will be paying $2,400 in bonuses in addition to their purchased blocks of International Classic laps.
The Oswego Speedway thanks John Brush and Corr / Pak Merchandising, Inc. for their continued support of the International Classic in 2010.
