The feedback from supermodified fans from across the country that have contacted the Oswego Speedway about the first ever “King of Wings” event, scheduled for July 11th, has lead to the offering of advanced sale tickets for the first time ever at Oswego for a regular season race.

Since the race was announced on February 18th, there has been an overwhelming response by fans who have already circled July 11th on their racing calendar for 2009. Several area fans made a trip to the Oswego Speedway booth at the Gater News Motorsports Expo in March and stated that it would be their first ever visit to the “Big O” but it was a “can’t miss” event.

As a result of all of the positive feedback in the first month from the event’s announcement, the Oswego Speedway began selling advance sale tickets on March 23rd.

The general admission grandstand tickets, sold on race day, will be $25 for the “King of Wings” event on July 11th. The special block of thirty four padded reserved seats with TV monitors, located near the finish line can be purchased in advance for $40 by calling (315) 342-0646 or on race days at the Box Office window.  

This first ever “$10,000 to Win” winged event will be a mid-summer showcase for the top supermodified drivers in the country. The weekend kicks off with the WSEN / Syracuse Nationals Super Cruise on Friday night. The 2009 Days Inn & Scottish Inns Old Timers Reunion is on Saturday morning. The Burkes Home Centers and Community Bank MSA “King of Wings” qualifying starts at 6:30 on Saturday night.

A special $20,000 AT&T “Rollover Bonus” will be paid to the “King of Wings” winner if he comes back on August 1st and wins the $10,000 first place check in the “Mr. Novelis Supermodified” event. Making that one drivers’ total winnings at $40,000 for the two wins.

The two race promotion all starts with the July 11th “King of Wings” event. The Oswego Speedway will have the back grandstands open with all general admission seating. Free camping will be available on the grounds as well.
