Scriba Lane Redemption has added up the eligible cans turned in at the second Novelis “Get your can to the Speedway” day on June 21st at the Oswego Speedway.  After publishing guidelines which let fans know that only New York State five cent deposit cans would count towards free Classic Week tickets, the fans responded favorably. Over 98% of cans turned in will count for the Oswego County Habitat for Humanity program.

The “Official” total for the June 21st collection event was 15,378 recyclable cans. The single largest donator was Al Archer with 2,234 cans. As the top can donator, Al picked up (2) Sky Deck Passes for Sunday of Classic Week.

There is one more can collection day scheduled for August 2nd. Fans turning in 300 cans on that day will receive (2) tickets for Sunday of Classic week. The single largest donation on that day will earn a fan (2) Sky Deck tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Classic Week.

The top three donators after August 2nd will all take part in a Grand Prize Drawing on Classic Sunday. The prizes that they will split will be sets of 2009 Season Passes for the Grandstands, Pit Area or Sky Deck. A running total of leaders will be published after the June 21st collection numbers are verified at Scriba Lane Redemption Center.

The top ten donators will all try to be in the top three after August 2nd to take part in the Grand Prize Drawing. The top ten after June 21st are: Al Archer (2,234); Ron Gunther (2,011); Carl Schadt (1,989); Len Fowler (1,468); Mike Howard (1,369); Gary Rookey (1,285); David Cory (1,185); Jean Scardella (1,097); Bob Odin (1,094); Spaulding Racing (1,002).
