The Novelis and Oswego County Habitat for Humanity can collection days at the Oswego Speedway for 2008 are all done. Cans will still be donated by the track from the trash chutes right through the Race of Champions Week. The 2008 collection efforts by the fans at the Oswego Speedway is on pace to shatter the 2007 one-day and season long collection totals. A total of ninety three different fans participated in the three collection events on May 24th, June 21st and August 2nd.

The May 24th total was 13,457 cans. The June 21st total was 15,378 cans. The August 2nd total is still being verified by the Scriba Lane Redemption Center. That unofficial total according to donation slips filled out by fans was 74,757 which was close to doubling the one day record set in 2007 of 42,042. The 2008 year to date total is just under 130,000 cans compared to the 2007 final total which was 115,296.

Once the August 2nd totals are finalized, a full press release will be placed on the homepage listing the individual collection event prize winners and the finalists that will get to take part in 2009 season ticket drawings on Classic Sunday.
