Two old sponsor friends have been re-invented since the 2006 racing season at the Oswego Speedway. Both are long time sponsors and are back with new names to help sponsor the big Friday and Saturday of events on Independence Weekend 2007.

Alliance Bank N.A., which has sponsored racing here at the Oswego Speedway since 2004 as OCNB is a new major sponsor in 2007 with their new name, Alliance. Alliance Bank was formed in 1999 as two of Central New York’s oldest and most respected banks merged. Since that time the growth has continued under the name of Alliance Bank. There are over two dozen branch locations from Oswego to Cortland and there are nearly a half dozen off-site ATM’s for the convenience of their customers. In addition to sponsoring this weekend’s activities at the Oswego Speedway, Alliance Bank and Burkes Home Centers are the season-long sponsors of the Novelis Supermodified “Commitment Program” which rewards car owners a guaranteed minimum weekly pay-out even if they finish in last place in the feature. Each car that participates in the program has an Alliance Bank / Burkes decal on their car and patch on its drivers’ fire suit.

AT&T is back again in 2007 with its new name. As Cingular Wireless, they have been a big part in race night sponsorship since 2004. As AT&T they are sponsoring the races at Oswego on a weekend when they will make telecommunications history with Apple by launching the new iPhone on June 29th. It is a fully functional touch screen iPod that interacts with AT&T wireless service and Windows PCs and Macs. AT&T will also be bringing the Jeff Burton / Richard Childress #31 Show Car and their NASCAR Ride Simulator to the Speedway on Saturday at 4:00.

The weekend starts off with the big WSEN Super Cruise and Party in the Pits on Friday night. The action continues outside the speedway at 4:00 on Saturday afternoon with the AT&T Show Car and Ride Simulator. After the heat races the “SBS Match Race” will be run by Roy Sova and Joe Marotta. Two fans that make a charitable wager on that race to benefit Ataxia will win either a $400 RAZR phone package from AT&T or a $400 pre-loaded Visa Card from Alliance Bank. Saturday night will be capped of with a fireworks display in the infield.

The Oswego Speedway welcomes back some old sponsor friends with new names as Alliance Bank and AT&T sponsor Independence Weekend 2007.
