The engines roar to life on Sunday afternoon May 13th to start the 57th consecutive season of racing at the Oswego Speedway. The week ends with another race on Saturday May 19th. Coca-Cola and Jakes Automotive will be sponsoring the "Opening Week" races on May 13th and May 19th which will kick off the 2007 season for the Novelis Supermodifieds, the PathFinder Bank SBS Racing Series and the RoC Parts Plus Modifieds at the Oswego Speedway.
The only “Official Soft Drink” in the fifty seven seasons of racing here at the Oswego Speedway, Coca-Cola, continues as a major sponsor of the Oswego Speedway in 2007.
In addition to being the title sponsor for Driver Point Funds through their Coca Cola and PowerAde brands, Coca Cola will also be the sponsor of the Coca Cola Reserved Seat section in the grandstands near the finish line.
Coca Cola will also be a sponsor of the Kids On-Track program this season with their Minute Maid brand. Each Kids On-Track member that gets a Pace Truck or Mini-Supermodified ride this season will get, among other things, a bottle of Minute Maid Lemonade. Each week one lucky kid also receives a Subway Kids Fresh Fit Meal which also includes a Minute Maid Drink Box.
The Oswego Speedway is proud to serve such Coca Cola products as Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Barqs Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, PowerAde, Dasani Spring Water, Minute Maid Lemonade and Nestea Ice Tea. In 2007 Coca Cola will also be introducing selected new drinks that they have brought to the market place recently such as Vault.
Coca Cola representatives will be on hand at the season ending Awards Banquet in October at the Turning Stone Casino to pass out the Coca Cola and PowerAde Prize Money for both the Novelis Supermodifieds and the PathFinder Bank SBS Series.
The longest running sponsorship association at the Oswego Speedway continues in 2007 with the annual “Coca Cola Kick-Off Week”, which features racing action on Sunday May 13th and Saturday May 19th.
Also getting in on the sponsorship during “Kick-Off Week” is Jakes Automotive here in Oswego. In addition to sponsoring several race teams in both divisions at the Oswego Speedway, Jakes automotive is now the owner of the former Jerry Curran #24. The car is re-numbered #23 and is painted sunburst orange and will be piloted by former Super Stock driver Jason Spaulding.
Jakes is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 5:30. Jake’s owner, Jake Ratcliff, has been an automotive technician for over fifteen years and relocated form his Scriba shop to his new location at 801 East Seneca Street a few years ago. Jake’s Automotive can handle most of your automotive needs, from oil changes right up to air conditioning system repairs. Jakes works on foreign and domestic vehicles. Jake has his own alignment machine and sells Cooper brand tires. One of the business’ specialties has been installing custom/dual exhaust systems on vehicles, which has become a very popular after-market item according to Jake. Each week Jake also awards a cash bonus to the Novelis Supermodified “hard Charger” in the feature race.
May 13th will feature the Novelis Supermodifieds, the newly named PathFinder Bank SBS Racing Series and the RoC Parts Plus Modifieds. May 19th will showcase the PathFinder Bank SBS Racing Series and the 2007 Enduro. The Oswego Speedway welcomes Coca Cola and Jakes Automotive as the sponsors of the 2007 “Kick-Off Week” here at the Oswego Speedway.
