Double Deuce Racing is pleased to announce that they have, in fact, purchased the Otto Sitterly #79 supermodified. The purchase was completed over the weekend of November 19th and the car has been picked up and brought to the team’s race shop in Oswego.

Bob Hoefer and Bill Samuels, team partners and car owners, view the purchase of the Hawk chassis super as a strong commitment to supermodified racing at Oswego Speedway on a weekly basis for the 2007 season. With Michael Barnes behind the wheel, the team has set two goals for the 2007 season: Number One to WIN RACES and Number Two to provide Michael a solid run at the 2007 track championship!

A Double Deuce Racing Team spokesperson said, “We look forward to working with Michael as he pursues a career in open wheel racing. Moving into the supermodified division is the first step for Michael, in what we believe will be a bright future in racing. He has been racing since he was four years old, and at the age of twenty-two, has many years of experience behind the wheel of a variety of race cars. Besides, he won our first feature as a team on August 5, 2006. You can’t ask much more of a driver than to give you an Oswego Speedway feature win in your first year as a race team!”

What of the “old” 22 you ask? Plans are still in the works to keep that car as well, and there is always the possibility that Bentley Warren will pilot it for special events in 2007. “The heritage continues!”
