The 56th Annual Sunoco Race of Champions at the Oswego Speedway on Saturday September 16th will feature drivers with an Indy 500 and Nextel Cup start on their resume. Joe Gosek and Ted Christopher will be in the field when nearly seventy modifieds roar into the Oswego Speedway Saturday morning. Joe Gosek will be behind the wheel of the Lee Sherwood back-up car #95 and Ted Christopher will be behind the wheel of a brand new car out of the #36 stable. Gosek is also putting plans together to run on Sunday afternoon September 17th, in the Snyder Racing #0 in the 13th Annual Bud Light Super Nationals that was postponed from September 2nd. Another car/driver combination to look for in the Super Nationals event is Michael Barnes to be driving the Lighthouse Lanes car for the first time with a wing on it. Other deals that are in the works for the Friday night Limited Super event, find several drivers doing some seat-hopping. Rumors place Kevin Knopp in the White #4, Mark Regan in the Barbeau #50, Shawn Walker or a Supermodified driver to be in the Knopp #94 and "man behind the scenes" Tim Knopp to pick up the ride in the Walker #68, which sat on the pole just last Monday for the Limited Super Classic. As the week goes on, more deals may be confirmed. For now the biggest names paying a visit to the Oswego Speedway in cars they normally don’t drive, would be Joe Gosek and Ted Christopher in the Saturday running of the Sunoco Race of Champions 200. |
