 On Burkes Home Center / Lighthouse Lanes night, Saturday August 26th at the Oswego Speedway, three drivers got into Victory Lane in the richest races of the regular season and all three were crowned their divisions Track Champions as well. Jason Spaulding, Russ Brown and Otto Sitterly all left the track as Champions. In the 20th Annual Novelis / OCNB “Mr. Supermodified” feature, Otto Sitterly paced himself as he worked his way to the top spot. He had Joe Gosek in the Snyder Racing #0 following him to the front. Otto stayed clear of trouble and collected the $10,000 first place money as he won by a few car lengths over Gosek. Sitterly also clinched his first Track Championship by winning his heat race earlier in the night. Early feature leader Jerry Curran ran a great race for the third place position. Bob Bond came across in fourth and Todd Stowell rounded out the top five. The Colosse Cheese Hard Charger was Kelly Miller. The Hollister Insurance Hard Luck driver was Tim Gareau. The Steve’s Body Shop Up & Comer winner was Jerry Curran. The Maid pro Clean Sweep was won by Otto Sitterly. In the 15th Annual Novelis / OCNB “Mr. Limited Super” feature, it was Russ Brown scoring his first win of the 2006 season. His steady runs during the season gave him his second consecutive Track Championship at the Speedway. Brown got by Jack Patrick after a restart late in the race. Patrick came home in second place. Lou LeVea finished third. Dave Gruel was fourth and Alan Barker rounded out the top five. The Cutro Professional Inspections Hard Charger was Russ Brown. The Butler Disposal Hard Luck driver was Brian Sobus. The Bob Andrews Motor Sales Up & Comer winner was Alan Barker. The Whites Car Care 4th Place Bonus was won by Dave Gruel. In the Oswego Quality Carpet / Ferris Industries Super Stock Classic it was Jason Spaulding taking charge and getting the win. Spaulding also overtook Rick Zeigler in the point standings and won the Track Championship in his division. Bobby Newman was the runner-up.
