812GosekVL_200.jpg“Double 0” Joe Gosek brought a single “0” home in first place Saturday night at the Oswego Speedway. Gosek has been the substitute driver for two weeks in the Tim Snyder Racing #0 and he has picked up two heat wins and this trip into Victory Lane in a feature event. Tim Snyder was trackside to watch the #0 make laps at the Oswego Speedway for the first time ever without being the driver of the car.

Snyder has announced that he will be out for the remainder of the season while he needs to focus on his health while he is being treated for a blood clot in his calf. Snyder was trackside to see his #0 make it to Victory Lane for the first time without him at the wheel.

The night featured several hard crashes which saw the Greg Furlong #72 destroyed, The Michael Barnes #22 and Otto Sitterly #79 cars go off on the hook and the Keith Gilliam #87 ride upside down going down the back stretch.

Gosek looks very much at home in the Hawk Chassis #0 as these two weeks have been his first trips around the Oswego Speedway in 2006. Gosek had planned to run the Gary Syrell #08 for the final three weeks of the season before the opportunity came along to fill in for Snyder. Look for both teams to announce soon who will be in their cars for the “Mr. Supermodified” feature and the 50th International Classic.

Craig Rayvals (94) came across the line in second. Jerry Curran (24) finished in third. Tim Gareau (5) had another solid top five as he was fourth and Bob Bond rounded out the top five. The Maid Pro Clean Sweep was collected by Joe Gosek. The complete order of finish and lap charts can be viewed in the AMB Scoring section of the Results tab on the Speedway website.

In the PathFinder Bank Limited Super division, it was the first win ever for Oswego New York driver Tim Barbeau (50). Doug Reaume (14) ran a great race to come home in second. Mark Regan (4) ran a solid race for a third place finish. Russ Brown (13) came home in fourth and Chris Proud (3) rounded out the top five. In the Summer Enduro 30, winning it was Bill Inch who is an employee for race night sponsor Burritt Motors. He had his own cheering section in the VIP Tower and even though he made contact with the wall a couple of times he made the final pass for the lead with three laps to go.

In the Jakes Automotive Super Stock division it was Jason Spaulding (34) getting his first feature win at the Oswego Speedway in 2006 just one week after his team car, the #6, picked up a win with driver Danny Kapuscinski.
