A busy weekend is on tap at the Oswego Speedway this Friday and Saturday night. There are several activities planned for the weekend before we get to the PathFinder Bank and Burritt Motors “2 for 1” family admission night, which will be highlighted by a kids autograph session before the racing action starts. On Friday night the Oswego Speedway hosts the second WSEN Super Cruise of the season. Classic cars and trucks will fill the infield starting at 6:00 for the “Party in the Pits” and Smokin’ will be playing on the Burkes / Galloway Realty Stage at 7:00. The BOCES-built “Mini-Supermodifieds” will be available for Kids On-Track members to ride from 5:30 until 7:00. Kids are reminded to bring a bike helmet and four of the cars will be available and have been pre-adjusted to accommodate tall and short kids. Wireless Zone will be on hand to pass out free phone accessories in the infield Victory Lane area. The Fitzhugh Home and School Association will be on hand with a 50/50 raffle to help with their playground fund. Generous “Party in the Pits” attendees at the last Friday night event made the Fitzhugh raffle a success. And as always the dirt track oval will be in action with kart racing behind the back grandstands on Friday night. On Saturday afternoon, the Oswego Elks Lodge #271 will be sponsoring the Kids On-Track picnic to be held this year at Lighthouse Lanes from 1:00 until 4:00. There is no charge to attend this event. Lighthouse Lanes has donated one hour of free Cosmic Bowling from 1:00 until 2:00 and then the activities move outside into the south parking lot for two more hours of fun, games and Hoffmans. Door prizes for the event will be provided by PathFinder Bank, Fleet Pride, Nesquik, Minute Maid, Kodak, Entergy, Parts Plus and the Oswego Elks Lodge #271. After the picnic the Speedway opens for an abbreviated practice session and then at 5:15 all of the cars and drivers will come down onto the track for the Constellation and Entergy kids autograph session. A full night of racing will follow featuring the Jakes Automotive Super Stocks, the PathFinder Bank Limited Supers, the Novelis Supermodifieds and the Summer Enduro 35. |
