The first Kids On-Track open riding session for the "Mini-Supermodifieds" during the Friday night July 21st WSEN Super Cruise was a popular success. Nearly two dozen program members came out to take extended rides on the Oswego Speedway surface in the BOCES-built cars. Some new families came out to sign their kids up to join the Kids On-Track program. Two new open riding session dates are being announced for members to again come out to the Speedway and get behind the wheel of these cars for some extended seat time.

The next date for Kids On-Track members to ride is at the Friday night "Party in the Pits" on August 11th. The riding session will again be from 5:30 to 7:30 and the oval course will be set up on the front of the Speedway surface near turn number four. This should prove to be a popular weekend for this event as the following day is "2 for 1" admission at the Speedway and the annual Kids On-Track Picnic will be from 2:00 until 4:00 with a Kids Autograph Session sponsored by Constellation and Entergy at 5:15 with all the drivers before the racing action starts for the night.

The final open riding session will be on Saturday September 9th during the First Annual Oswego Lions Club "Child Safety Day" from 11:00 to 4:00. Several activities are planned at the track that day by the Oswego Lions Club. There will be fundraisers, a Super Cruise, the Swivel Rockers will be playing, the Traffic Safety Council will have a Bike Safety Rodeo and Car Seat Check Point, there will be free eye exams for kids, Red Planet will have their mobile skate park at the Speedway and the Oswego Elks Lodge will have a chicken barbeque as well. There will be a lot to choose from on Saturday September 9th at the Speedway and the "Mini-Supermodified" rides will be on the list of choices that day.

You can get a close up look at a "Mini-Supermodified" anytime as the Staples sponsored #2 is permanently on display at the Oswego Staples office Superstore location. The other four cars will make random appearances at program sponsors Raby’s, Carvels, Price Chopper and Your House Your Home as the summer progresses.
