Oswego Speedway Set to Display at Gater Racing News Motorsports Expo

OSWEGO, NY (March 6) – Oswego Speedway, Home of the Supermodifieds, is proud to once again take part in the annual Gater Racing News Motorsports Expo presented by Mitchell’s Speedway Press, Camping World, and Ferris Industries located in the Verizon Center of Progress building at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY March 10-11.  The spring showcase annually serves as the season lid lifter for northeast motorsports, and as in years passed the ‘Steel Palace’ will be on hand to help celebrate the beginning of race season.

“Each spring race fans from across the region look forward to hitting the Motorsports Expo to get a sneak peek at what the coming race season holds,” said Oswego Speedway Public Relations Specialist, Danny Kapuscinski.  “We in the industry truly look forward to it as well.  It is always great to get back in touch with friends and your racing family to help build the excitement of a new racing season.  Oswego Speedway is proud to be associated with this great show again, and we are ready to provide fans with a look into 2012 at the ‘Steel Palace.’”

Fans in attendance at the Motorsports Expo will have a chance to stop by the Oswego Speedway booth March 10-11 to pick up a 2012 season schedule, as well as the opportunity to purchase assorted Oswego Speedway merchandise.  The Speedway booth however will be just a small portion of the overall display.

No fewer than four Oswego Speedway racing machines are scheduled to make an appearance.  The Lighthouse Lanes No. 50 Novelis Supermodified of 2011 feature winner David Gruel is expected to be in attendance along with Pathfinder Bank SBS Series mounts driven by David LaTulip, Jason Simmons, and Kreig Heroth.

Joining the overall Speedway display will be the Oswego Kartway, otherwise known as ‘The Bullring.’  Located behind the rear grandstand of the Oswego Speedway, the Kartway is a 1/12th mile clay oval which holds events every Friday night from May through September.  David LaTulip, the 2011 Pathfinder Bank SBS Rookie of the Year and feature winner, is a graduate of the Kartway ranks.

The 2012 racing season at Oswego Speedway begins May 5th.  Events run May through September on most Saturday nights, culminating with the Fall Championship 75 on September 15th.

The annual Speedway open practice is scheduled for April 28th.

In 2012, Oswego Speedway welcomes all kids ’16 and under’ with a paid adult and those with an active military ID free of charge to all events excluding Race of Champions and Budweiser International Classic Weekend.

Advertising opportunities with the Speedway are still readily available.  If you or your business would be interested in marketing with the Speedway please e-mail dbond@oswegospeedway.com.
