Many long standing appearances on behalf of the Oswego Speedway will begin by various race teams and drivers in the coming weeks. For many people this is a great opportunity to get an up-close look at a car or meet a driver in a casual setting. Some of the appearances even go as far as promoting some good in areas away from racing.

The first appearance by a race team is on Wednesday June 7th in Sandy Creek by Stephen Gioia III at the annual Safety Day Camp, sponsored in part by State Farm Insurance.  Stephen will conduct safety related seminars in front of over 500 area fifth grade students during the day. He will also be passing out complimentary Oswego Speedway tickets for the June 24th "Family Night". This is the third year in a row that a driver has represented the Speedway at this popular educational event.

Saturday June 10th, the Oswego Speedway will be sponsoring a car show in Auburn, New York at the UNC Club on the corner of Washington and Cottage Streets. The Speedway Pace Truck and Auto Show Display Booth will be on hand along with the Limited #18 of Dave Gruel and the #44 of John Moore. Over 75 custom cars are expected at the event which kicks off at noon. The PathFinder Bank Limited Supers have the night off at Oswego and this will be a good day to see some of them up close.

Thursday through Sunday, June 15th to the 18th, marks the first ever Gater News mid-season Race Car Expo at the Turning Stone Casino. The Oswego Speedway will be represented by the Stowell Racing #89. This event will encompass all avenues of auto racing from Saturday night local tracks right up to the Nextell Cup Series. Special events and guests are lined up for the four day event.

Saturday June 17th, three more appearances will be made on behalf of the Oswego Speedway and its drivers. Three different Dunkin Donuts locations will have drivers and cars on hand from 9:00 until 12:00 on that morning. Josh LaRochelle will be at the Central Square location with his Outdoor Power #10. Stowell Racing will have one of their cars at the Pulaski location (at the same time their other car is still at the Turning Stone show). Mike Bond will be at the Oswego east Dunkin Donuts with his Limited Super #90. The next day, June 18th it is back to Auburn with David Gruel and his #18 at Emerson Park where over 400 custom cars will be on hand at the annual Fathers Day Cruise-In.

That is a look at June car and driver appearances. Several other events are already lined up for July and August from Oswego to Liverpool. Keep an eye on the website to see where your favorite driver may show up at an event or sponsors' location as the season marches on.
