Oswego Speedway is pleased to announce the support of Corky Stockham and his National Parts Peddler Newspaper for the 2007 season. Track co-owner Steve Gioia states, "Corky has agreed to buy a major portion of the foam block barriers used to cushion the outer corner walls at the speedway."
Oswego Speedway was and still is one of the leaders in driver safety. The Caruso family, former owners of the speedway, always emphasized safety. Oswego Speedway was one of the first tracks to use the foam blocks, kill switches on steering wheels, mandatory head supports for all divisions and head and neck restraint systems for the lightning fast supermodified division.
Gioia goes on to say, "Corky is a former supermodified racer and major supporter of all forms of racing and he understands the importance of safety in the sport of auto racing. We at the speedway and all the competitors are grateful to have Corky’s support in helping to make Oswego Speedway a safer place to race."
Oswego Speedway opens the 2007 season with practice sessions on May 5th and 12th, which offer free grandstand admission. The 57th consecutive racing season starts on Sunday, May 13th at 2:00 with the Coca Cola Kick-Off featuring the Novelis Supermodified 45, the Pathfinder Bank SBS Series 30 and the ROC Modified Parts Plus 75.
