The Oswego Speedway Old Timers Reunion is coming together for the 2009 season. A new corporate sponsorship has been added to the program to help out of town guests who need lodging in Oswego to attend the weekend of activities. Days Inn and Scottish Inns, both in Oswego, will be offering a “Reunion Rate” for those out of town visitors.

With the big Independence Weekend race as the next item on the 2009 racing schedule at the Oswego Speedway, these last two weeks of June are a perfect time to do some maintenance to the racing surface. During this rare scheduled two week break in the season, several concrete patches are being removed and replaced by J & S Paving Company.

On June 13th, a new winner finally reached victory lane in the PathFinder Bank SBS Series as Mike Bond motored to his first win of the 2009 season in dramatic fashion. In the Novelis Supermodified division it was Joey Payne who had the crowd on their feet as he erased a four second lead by Doug Didero only to run out of laps at the end as Didero picked up his first win of 2009.

The first ever “King of Wings” race at the Oswego Speedway on July 11th is quickly approaching as is race team pre-registration. The $10,000 first place money, a first for a winged supermodified winner’s check, will undoubtedly attract the top supermodified teams from the United States and Canada.

The fourth annual recyclable can collection for Novelis and Oswego County Habitat for Humanity kicked off at the Oswego Speedway on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. The Oswego Speedway and their generous fans continue to be the leader in recyclable can donations for Novelis fans continued to show their support for this recycling initiative by beating last years opening round of the can collection.

June 13th marks the third “$10 Night” for the 2009 season here at the Oswego Speedway. This week’s racing action is sponsored by R.J. Caruso Tax & Accounting and Mitchell’s Speedway Press. For the PathFinder Bank SBS Series in 2009 it has been Dave Gruel winning all three races. In the MSA/Oswego Wing and Novelis Supermodified divisions, there have been three race winners in all three weeks.
