OSWEGO, N.Y. – The “Indy of the East” – the Oswego Speedway – announced plans to serve as the official “Rest Stop” sponsor for the 2013 Oswego Great Strides walk, to be held on May 18 at Breitbeck Park.
Over the years, thousands of dollars have been raised to fund the research, care and educational programs of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The goal of the 2013 Oswego Great Strides Walk is to raise $20,000; the Oswego Speedway is generously contributing $1,000 to get the fundraising season underway.
Volunteers from the Oswego area are invited to participate in “Gearing Up for Great Strides” on Feb. 25 at the Oswego Public Library, when Team Leaders will have a special orientation session and an opportunity to develop unique team fundraising plans.
“I am very proud of the Oswego Speedway,” said Jenn Reebel, whose family owns and operates the popular track. “We strive to be the best and to provide excellent opportunities for racing fans as well as our ambitious drivers. It is also important for us to be visible in the local community as we support numerous charitable organizations.”
Great Strides Team Leaders from across Oswego county are needed to ensure the walk’s success. For more details, visit centralny.cff.org or call (315) 463-7965.
