OSWEGO, NY (September 18) - Since the Canale Insurance 2-seat Supermodified made its debut at the Oswego Speedway late in the 2009 season, the price for a ride has remained the same. "For 2013 ride prices are going to go up a little," said ride coordinator Roy Sova, but if you book your ride now you can do so at 2012 prices."
There are three different rides available. Race day mornings there is the pre-practice ride. During the night's race program there are two intermission rides, and then the highly sought after Start the Feature ride. "We have already sold two Start the Feature rides," said Sova, "and I expect most of these rides will be sold well before the start of next season.".
All ride packages include, in addition to the ride, a guided tour of the VIP Tower, the chance to watch a race from the Sky Deck, a gift bag full of items from participating sponsors, a program for that night's event, and four general admission tickets to that night's race.
For the 2013 season the 2-seat Supermodified is going to have an entirely new look. Track owner Eric Torrese said, "We're going to put an all new body on the car. We want it to have more of the look of the new generation Supers, and we really want to make it more colorful." In addition to the new body, the car will also undergo a complete going over to get it ready for the new season. "The engine will be gone over, we'll check the brakes, maybe change the shock package, check the rear end, replace anything that needs replacing, pretty much do what every race team does during the off season," said Sova.
To schedule a ride during the 2013 racing season at 2012 prices call Roy Sova at 315-297-2262. "This is a very limited time offer, said Sova, so don't wait. Remember, the holiday season isn't that far away."
