The biggest buzz during the off-season for supermodified racing was the announcement of the Days Inn MSA-Oswego Wings Challenge Series which will see the first of the three events this weekend at the Oswego Speedway. The Challenge Series returns to Oswego on July 14th and concludes at Sandusky Speedway on September 15th. This first event is co-sponsored by Outdoor Power and Red Carpet Inn.
Outdoor Power has long been involved with motorsports. Co-owner Eddie Horne is a former driver including here at the Oswego Speedway. The Outdoor Power team cars in the PathFinder Bank SBS Racing Series have visited Victory Lane in recent years with Mike Bond and Josh LaRochelle at the controls. The team primarily fields one car now for LaRochelle who has already picked up a win in 2007. Outdoor Power is your one stop for outdoor equipment sales and service. With two convenient locations in Clay and Camillus, they can handle all of your needs for lawn care and snow removal equipment or most any other job around the yard. Outdoor Power is the annual sponsor of the Classic Week Lawnmower Race and this year they have sponsored an SBS “Dash for Cash”, tonight’s racing action and they are supplying a car for the “Announcers Match Race” on June 30th. They also support the Oswego Speedway with outside appearances with their car at social events in Central New York.
Red Carpet Inn is a new race night sponsor in 2007 but part of a family of businesses that have a long history of sponsorship here at the Oswego Speedway. The family of businesses includes the Red Carpet Inn in Pulaski, the Scottish Inns and Suites in Pulaski and Oswego and the Days Inn location in Oswego. This umbrella of lodging destinations are active supporters of events at the Oswego Speedway. They are the “Official” Scoreboard sponsor in addition to co-sponsoring parts of multiple race nights annually. For 2007, they have added their name as title sponsor to the Days Inn MSA-Oswego Wings Challenge Series. Special room rates were made available to traveling MSA Teams when they come to Oswego for the first two events of this series. Special room rates have also been made possible by a joint venture with Days Inn in Sandusky when the Oswego Teams head west for the series finale on September 15th. The Challenge Series will pay $500 bonus purse money to the highest finishing MSA car owner on June 9th and July 14th at the Oswego Speedway. A $500 bonus purse payout will go to the highest finishing Oswego car owner at Sandusky on September 15th. A $1,000 series bonus will go to the car owner who compiles the best average feature finishing position from the three race series.
The Oswego Speedway is proud to have Outdoor Power and Red Carpet in as co-sponsors to help kick off the 2007 Days Inn MSA-Oswego Wings Challenge Series. |
