OSWEGO, NY (December 5, 2013) – Mark Castiglia and Cameron Rowe officially announced this week the introduction of Missile Motorsports, a partnership between the two veteran drivers, that will see each campaign FFB chassis Pathfinder Bank SBS machines weekly at Oswego Speedway in 2014.
Both Castiglia and Rowe competed out of the Four Sevens Motorsports garage in 2013 with Castiglia racking up two main event wins a year ago, and Rowe claiming the 2012 running of the Bud Light SBS Classic.
The duo will now strike out on their own; bringing the guidance and expertise of long-time FFB chassis engineer Dan Dennie along with them.
“I am very eager to be working on this two car team with Mark (Castiglia),” said Rowe. “This is the most ready I, or Mark, has ever been for a race season. I’m very optimistic about the upcoming season and am looking forward to working alongside Mark this winter and racing alongside him as his teammate this summer, all of course under the watchful eyes and guidance of Dan Dennie.”
Work began on the two car effort not long after the conclusion of the 2013 racing season at Oswego, as Castiglia quickly got down to business purchasing two FFB chassis Small Block Supers for the coming year.
Castiglia will pilot the former AJ Bernys No. 24 machine, the former Tim Barbeau owned racer, driven to an SBS title in 2009 by Dave Gruel.
The team’s second acquisition, and the 2014 ride for Rowe, was the TNT Motorsports No. 14 backup ride in 2013, a brand new chassis at the beginning of last season which has seen only five laps on the Speedway’s racing surface.
Castiglia is confident that the combination of him and Rowe on and off the Speedway will provide optimum results when the season gets underway in May.
“Cameron has really helped my career over the years,” said Castiglia. “He keeps me motivated and has given me a ton of confidence. We get along really well on and off the track and I can’t wait for next season to start. We have high expectations. I believe Cameron and I will be a championship contending team in 2014.”
Rowe and Castiglia are each tied for 19th on the all-time SBS win list at the Speedway with four victories apiece, as the pair looks to now combine their efforts for an improved run at championship success in the coming year.
Rowe says optimism is through the roof for Missile Motorsports in ’14.
“Mark’s enthusiasm and attitude is something I have never seen from him,” said Rowe. “It is very exciting. We are eager to get started. Both chassis’ are already stripped, sand blasted, and ready for paint with parts on order.”
Missile Motorsports’ sponsors currently include Lighthouse Lanes, Paul’s Big M, Tarvia Seal Corporation, and JAG Environmental.
